Installation

This plugin requires the Piklist plugin which provides components for us to build this plugin.

The administrator of your blog will require an account with The Winnower and willingness to advance science. Authors currently only require a full name in their wordpress profile. Soon they’ll be able to link with their own Winnower accounts.

  1. Install The Winnower Publisher and Piklist plugins
  2. In “The Winnower” settings in your admin dashboard save your api key. It can be found on your account page on thewinnower.com

The Plugin is dependent on Piklist plugin. That is not exactly bad although standalone is expected. This plugin essentially publishes the whole post on their domain via API and add Creative Commons License without warning on WordPress side. Retrieving DOI needs separate paid membership on their website. These may not be known or understandable to a new WordPress user. Paid membership needed is not mentioned in description. Readme and on WordPress post page disclaimer is requested to add as soon as possible.
